Journey of my English

At last year when I was in philipine, I got new expriences.

I talked with a foreiger first time at there. At first, I was afraid to talk.

But a few days later, I got a confidence. After that time I had a lot of tour and

friends.

When I went the Mindoro in PH, also have special exprience at there.

There had a so lovely color of sea and activities like jetski.

It impressed me so i wanna go there if i can and meet my friend again.

It changed my life and broaden my outlook of other countries.

It was really special time and exprience for my life.

Holiday

Every year i drove with 4 of my best friend 4 4 day in natur trip

we drive to a place where you can set up our tent.
the first one that we did when we have arrived we make a fire, that we can cook and we start to drink one beer.

after that we set up our tents.

if this is done, we went back to the fire and we began with the barbie.
we sat all the days around the fire and we are doing nothing.
we stand only up when we must good to the shop to bought more food (meat)or beer or other alcohol.

I think is are a few funny days because we talk about all and we are 4 days all the time drunken.

this is not a long story about my holidays, but i think is are good holidays to ascape from our normal live.
and that is the reason why i have pick choose this on

My famous holiday

My famous holiday was with my parents and my sister. We went to america for 3 weeks. The 1st city we went to Chigaco, it is a wunderful city with very nice beautiful scenery and it was very exciting. The 2nd City was San Francisco. Its not so big but is very beautiful. After San Francisco we drov by car to San Diego and Los Angeles. San Diego has got very sandy beaches and L.A is famous for Hollywod and Beverly hills. Then we flew to the Bahamas. The Bahamas were imasing. And the last City was New York, This City is very popular with tourists and historical and i als saw the World Trade center. This is my little story.

Isabelle's Holidays in L'Escala

I and my family went in the summertime in 1998 to L'Escala. This is a town on the coastline from spain, about 100 kilometres from Barcelona.
We stayed there for two weeks and we rented a house for this time. The house was big, on two floors, but it was dirty.
The centre of the town was really beautiful because there was a long street along the beach with a lot of shops and restaurants. Every evening we walked along this street and went every time in the same restaurant and drank something. In this restaurant were working two lovely guys and we had every evening fun with them because we told them Swiss-German words.
In the time we were having holiday time there, my sister celebreted her 16th birthday and this two guys sang Happy Birhtday for her in spanish.
During the days we were lying in the beach and sometimes there were young impudent French and they lay on our towel while we were swimming.
But it was one of the most beautiful holidays i every had.

It was a winter holiday when I was 11 or 12.
My family went a relative's home. They lived in country.
A mountain, a stream, a rice field, a ordinary field.....
All things were very interesting to me. I stayed there two days.
The first day we were going to fishing & swimming.
And catch some frogs, grasshoppers barbecue them.
It's the first time I ate that(frog legs & grasshopper).
The second day, we were going to play sledding. Than we have to go mountian.
On the way, I saw snake's skin. Perhaps he ready for winter sleep,
so takes off his old skin. That also the first time I have seen.
After sledding, we were catching some potatos & sweet potatos by myself.
Than grilled it~!! It's so so so so so~~~ Dellicious~!!!
It was a great and exiting vacation for me. And I'll never don't forget that times.

confirmation of my brother and my 25th birthday 18.06.05

the day was starting for my brother Raul with an french exam (DELF) in Zurich.Just after the exam. He went home and changed the clothes for to go in the church. Who the whole family and a lot of friends of bothsides was waiting to him. I remember me
that i was really proud to be his confirmation god-father. After the mess we taked a little apero behind the church and than we were going to the restraurant to celebrate this event. The restaurant was near at the lake with a spectacular view. We enjoyed a lot the time in the restaurant, the dinner was delicious and everybody was going happy.

For me, it was a special birthday because i could compart them with my brother. I`ll never forget this day

when I was 10 years old, I went to the USA with my family and friends. I think it's my best holiday, it was extraordinary.
I saw natural wonders which are the ;ost beautiful views I've never seen.
The grand canyon, is so huge. I think everyone should see this place before death. we went to Yellostone National Park. It's one of the most famous and beautiful park of animals in the world. We saw dark-bears, does and so on...
We ate a lot of hamburgers and drank too much cokes. After, i can't remember.

I work with two friends in an office. My job is defending poor people. In Brazil it's dificult to get some lawyers assistance because it's expensive. Isabelle goes down under

I'm Isabelle Furrer. I'm 22 years old. I come from Zurich, this is a city in Switzerland. My job is pharmacist and I have worked in a pharmacy for two years.
I arrived here in Australia on 30th December 2007. I will study English in Manly for 10 weeks and after this 10 weeks i will travel. Manly is a wonderful place and i'm enjoying my stay here.
Our family isn't big, there are only four people, my mother Andrea, my father Juerg and my sister Patricia. My sister is four years older than me and she works as a nanny.
I like to read and go to the cinema. My favorite film is Dirty Dancing. I saw this film about 20 times. I also like to listen to music. I like most music but I hate electronic music.
My hobbies are swimming, jogging and to going out with friends. I have very good friends at home and I miss them here in Australia. But two of them will come in April to Brisbane and to Cairns and then I will visit them.
I hope I can enjoy my 5 months in Australia.

My name is Vanessa, and I come from France. I live in a city called Nîmes (in the south area). I live in a big, old house with my family: My mother (she is nurse), my sister, and my three brothers; without forget my dog and my cat! In France, I was a student in Art and design (very boring! ;) and i received my graduate this year, but with this diploma, I can't work, so it's why i decided to come here! I'd like to learn english, and to see other things, and Australia seems like a dream country.... I arrived in Sydney on 14th of November, and i like living here in Manly (i prefer Manly so much more to Sydney, its so crowded!) After, I'd like to travel, to do some sightseeing, to discover this country e.g. Perth, Alice Springs, Darwin, Uluru Rock, Brisbane and the great coral reef, and if i can Tasmania......but it depends on the money.......:( For now, I can hope!

Hi! I'm Nanako from Japan. Everybody says I seem like a Southeast Asian. But I'm a genuine Japanese! I live with my parents in Chiba which is next to Tokyo.

Before I came to Australia, I worked at a TV station in Tokyo as an assistant director. It was too hard of a job. I worked past midnight. Sometimes I didn't go home for several days. I had only 1 or 2 days off per month. Can you believe it?! But it was a challenging job and a good experience. I don't want to return to the same job, but I'd like to get a job which engages in the TV world again.

I've been studying in ACE for 3 months. I'm enjoying my life in Australia. I love Australia, especially Manly!! I'd like to live in Manly forever!! But unfortunately, I'll run out of money in 2 or 3 weeks... I have to work! Luckily, I'm finishing school this week, so I decided to go to Adelaide on 22nd of January to do fruit picking. Why fruit picking? Because I want to get my 'second working holiday visa'. In order to get it, I have to work on a farm for 3 months. Why Adelaide?? Because there are many grape farms. Maybe I can find a job easily. (I hope)

If I save enough money, I'd like to do... lots of things!! I'd like to come back to Manly. I'd like to go to school again. (Of course ACE!) I'd like to travel around Australia. I'd like to visit my friends in Switzerland!

I'm looking forward to these days.

Welcome to our class blog from Pamela

Hi I'm Pamela, the 301 Intermediate class teacher here in ACE Manly. I come from Drumsna, which is a small village in the north west of Ireland. Drumsna is on the river Shannon and every year, thousands of tourists come here to fish and to relax on the river cruisers. As a child I used to spend lots of my summers working on one of the locks of the Shannon with my father. He has been the lock-keeper at Albert Lock for the last 30 years. His father was the lock-keeper before him, and his father was the lock-keeper before him!
Our family is quite small, there are only four of us, my mother, my father my brother (Paul) and I. My brother is an engineer for a company called Hewlett Packard. My mother is a psychiatric nurse and next year she is going to take early retirement!
I left home when I was 17 and went to Limerick to study English and Media and Communication Studies at University. I left Ireland at the age of 19 and went to a town called Ribadeo in Galicia in the north west of Spain as part of my college placement. I taught English in a private language school for one year here. After that year I returned to finish my degree.
Following that I moved to Japan for two years and taught English in four different high schools there. I absolutely loved my time there. I really miss the food, and so much of their culture. This winter just gone by, I came to Australia, and the rest as they say, is history.
I now live in Manly and am quickly beginning to love the relaxed life here. I am also happy to be skipping a winter after two very very cold ones in Japan!
In my free time I like singing, snow boarding and cooking- but now at the same time obviously! My favourite bands and singers are Coldplay, Snow Patrol, The Cranberries, Paulo Nutini, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, U2 and REM. The films I have enjoyed the most are Forest Gump, all the Back to the Future movies, The Shawshank Redemption and Remember the Titans. My favourite actor is Johnny Depp and favourite authors Dan Brown and Maeve Binchy.I am a total television addict and love Lost, Desperate Housewives, House, 24, and Grey's Anatomy but my favourite show has to be Heroes!
